Responsibilities of Having a Large Family: So Many Children, So Little Attention to Each One of Them

In an agrarian economy, so many helpers were needed on the farm. With the arrival of mechanic farming, farmers have not relied on the number of children to help them with farming chores. With the majority of Americans leaving the farm and living off other industries, one may wonder why a single mother wants to have so many children when she said she was an only child who did not get all the attention she should have gotten.
