When one partner decides to cheat, he or she often resorts to deception, lies and other unbecoming behaviors to cover the affair. It happens between all cheaters who decide to be unfaithful to their partner. For Mark Sanford, he lied to his wife, children, state employees and all his constituents. He wanted to cover his trail. He led them to believe that he was walking in the Appalachian trail. That is after his wife, Jenny, has asked him to get out of the house.
Politicians have a hard time keeping their affair a secret. One way or the other, they are going to be put in the spotlight.
As far as Mark Sanford is concerned, it has been reported that the affair started innocently with his Maria of Argentina. "A dear, dear friend hooked him up over many years of friendship." The question to ask is whether men and women can be friends. Many people can discuss this but the reality is that once again Mark Sanford and Maria show that the sexual attractions are alive and well.
Here is a sample of their correspondence as uncovered by State, a South Carolina paper:
""You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night's light - but hey, that would be going into sexual details," Sanford writes.
"In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul," the email reads. ""
