David Took Sean to DisneyWorld, Florida: He is Trying to Make Up For Lost Time in Brazil; Silvana Bianchi Is Mad at Brazilian Court
What is a father to do? After all, he has not seen his son for so many years. He has so many things to teach him and show him. So many trips to go on. So much catch up.
Let us give them their privacy as they are about to embark on a relearning experience.
Starting Tomorrow morning, David and Sean will be featured on NBC shows such as Today and potentially Dateline during the week.
The networks are trying to get whatever NBC leaks out. CBS took another angle. They have been interviewing Sean's grandparents.
So far, Silvana Bianchi is not too happy with the Brazilian court. She wants to keep fighting.
"Silvana Bianchi, the grandmother of Sean Goldman, the 9-year-old American boy who was taken to Brazil by his mother when he was 4 and who was returned to the United States, this Christmas Eve, met the press in Rio, on Christmas day, to talk about the departure of her grandson.

Update on David Goldman's Fight to Get Back his Son from Brazilian Grandparents and Supreme Court
David Goldman was not granted the custody of his son. He went to Brazil to be reunited with his son, but he was not given the privilege of flying back to the States with his son.
So while we are ready to celebrate Christmas with our family members, think about this father who has been battling the fight of his life.

OC Assemblyman caught discussing two simultaneous affairs on video and audio. Poor Susan Duvall, his wife who stayed in Yorba Linda with the rest of the family! Once he realized he got caught, he issued a statement giving his resignation.
The tough guy, noise-causing motorcycle rider and family values guy apparently had a few soft spots. Sacramento women were his downfall from grace. Duvall is also the owner of an insurance company.

California Wine, Cycles Gladiator Wine Label ' Banned in Bama' but Has Soaring Demand
Since the news broke last July, demand has been increasing and coming from all over the world according to Hahn Family Wine president. The company is based in Soledad, CA. A citizen took a bottle of wine to the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage control. Then the board told stores and restaurants to stop selling the wine because of its indecency and nudity displayed in the label which was copied from a 1895 French advertising poster for Cycles Gladiator bicycles.
So 'Banned in Bama' and "Taste what they can not have in Bama' have become the rallying cries for the company that intends on capitalizing on this market faux-pas.

Mark Sanford's Mistress, Maria Belen Chapur Photos and Videos: Hot Commodities in US
Governor Mark Sanford went to Argentina to cry. He cried to his lover, Maria Belen Chapur. Who would believe him? Even after his wife, first lady of South Carolina, Jenny Sanford, found out about the affair, the governor continued to ask for permission to see the mistress. After he was kicked out of the house, he took his own chance to go see the woman in Argentina. He did all that without saying where he was going. He did it on father's day weekend. That is so much for family values!

It was indeed a long day. I am most jealous of your salad under the palm tree.
Three thoughts in one note now that I have a moment. One the travel schedule is about to get real busy (and this distresses me for the way it may well make it more difficult to get your notes over the next few weeks), two unfortunately all the feelings you describe are mutual, and three where do we go from here?
One, tomorrow leave at 5 am for New York and meetings. Will think about you on its streets and wish I was going to be there later in the month when you are there. Tomorrow night back to Philadelphia for the start of the National Governor’s Conference through the weekend. Back to Columbia for Tuesday and then on Wednesday, as I think I had told you, taking the family to China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Thailand and then back through Hong Kong on world wind tour. Few days home then to Bahamas for 5 days on a friends boat for the last break of the summer. The following weekend have been asked to spend it out in Aspen, Colorado with McCain — which has kicked up the whole VP talk all over again in the press back home.
Two, mutual feelings. I have been specializing in staying focused on decisions and actions of the head for a long time now — and you have my heart. You have oh so many attributes that pulls it in this direction. Do you really comprehend how beautiful your smile is? Have you been told lately how warm your eyes are and how they softly glow with the special nature of your soul. I remember Jenny, or someone close to me, once commenting that while my mom was pleasant and warm it was sad she had never accomplished anything of significance. I replied that they were wrong because she had the ultimate of all gifts — and that was the ability to love unconditionally. The rarest of all commodities in this world is love. It is that thing that we all yearn for at some level — to be simply loved unconditionally for nothing more than who we are — not what we can get, give or become. There are but 50 governors in my country and outside of the top spot, this is as high as you can go in the area I have invested the last 15 years of my life — my getting here came as no small measure because I had that foundation of love and support so critical to getting up in the morning and feeling you could give and risk because you already had a full tank of love in the emotional bank account. Since our first meeting there in a wind swept somewhat open air dance spot in Punta del Este, I felt that you had that same rare attribute. Above all else I love that inner beauty about you. That gift of yours is going to make a tremendous difference in (The State deleted sons’ names) life — and in anyone’s life who is blest to be touched by yours — you need to rest very comfortably in that fact. As I mentioned in our last visit, while I did not need love fifteen years ago — as the battle scars of life and aging and politics have worn on this has become a real need of mine. You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that is so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificently gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curves of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of night’s light — but hey, that would be going into the sexual details we spoke of at the steakhouse at dinner — and unlike you I would never do that!
Three and finally, while all the things above are all too true — at the same time we are in a hopelessly — or as you put it impossible — or how about combine and simply say hopelessly impossible situation of love. How in the world this lightening strike snuck up on us I am still not quite sure. As I have said to you before I certainly had a special feeling about you from the first time we met, but these feelings were contained and I genuinely enjoyed our special friendship and the comparing of all too many personal notes (and yes this is true even if you did occasionally tantalize me with sexual details over the years!) — but it was all safe. Where we are is not. I have thought about it and in some ways feel I let you down in letting these complications come into a friendship that I hope will last till death. In all my life I have lived by a code of honor and at a variety of levels know I have crossed lines I would have never imagined. I wish I could wish it away, but this soul-mate feel I alluded too is real and in that regard I sure don’t want to be the person complicating your life. I looked to where I often look for advice and counsel, and in I Corinthians 13 it simply says that, “ Love is patient and kind, love is not jealous or boastful, it is not arrogant or rude, Love does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful, it does not rejoice in the wrong, but rejoices in the right, Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things”. In this regard it is action that goes well beyond the emotion of today or tomorrow and in this light I want to look for ways to show love in helping you to live a better — not more complicated life. I want to help (one of Maria’s sons) with film guys that might help his career, etc. I also don’t want you walking20away (sic) from some guy (I take it the younger guy you mentioned a t dinner) because of me — and what we both have to see as an impossible situation. I better stop now least this really sound like the Thornbirds — wherein I was always upset with Richard Chamberlain for not dropping his ambitions and running into Maggie’s arms. The bottom line is two fold, my heart wants me to get on a plane tonight and to be in your loving arms — my head is saying how do we put the Genie back in the bottle because I sure don’t want to be encumbering you, or your options or your life. Put differently, given I love you, I don’t want to be part of the reason you are having less than an ideal week in what sounds like a cool spot.
Lastly I also suspect I feel a little vulnerable because this is ground I have never certainly never covered before — so if you have pearls of wisdom on how we figure all this out please let me know ... In the meantime please sleep soundly knowing that despite the best efforts of my head my heart cries out for you, your voice, your body, the touch of your lips, the touch of your finger tips and an even deeper connection to your soul. I love you ... sleep tight. M

David Goldman let his wife and son leave for a vacation in Brasil in 2004. They never came back. The still married woman met and fell in love with a native Brazilian and well-connected man. When Sean's mother and David's wife died while giving birth, the Brazilian husband latched himself onto little Sean whom he considers as his son. Hiding behind all his contacts and money, he is able to find players in the Brazilian Judicial system to thumb his nose at the laws and international treaties signed by the country.
In the meantime, a young American boy is kept away from his father who is leading a campaign to get his son back.
Today, many parents are fighting one way or another. They are fighting to keep food on the table. They are fighting to keep their job.

Rihanna's Bruised Face, Busted Lips by Boyfriend Chris Brown: The New Face of Domestic Violence in America
Sidney Poitier and Will Smith will not be happy with this kind of example during the month dedicated to Black History Month. No parents will be glad to see their daughter bruised by a lover like this. In no time should something like happen. Yet it did happen to one we seem to know through her music and startdom. The attacker is not a stranger. Somebody who loved her. How can Chris Brown rebound from this low blow?
Jay-Z is unhappy about the whole incident. T.D. Jakes can not deal with this either. Bill Cosby will have nightmares. His work is well-deserving. Divorced but Living Together under One Roof: The Fallout of the Economic Crisis
There is a new phenomenon going on in America. The economy is forcing divorced partners to continue living together. This arrangement is confusing s, friends as well as children. But when the partners can not sell the home and make it on their own, they are forced to living under the same roof.
The economy is keeping married couples together. If anything, that is a good thing. How about working things out? Our grandparents worked it out. Why not us?

Pricing the Priceless Kids
Here is a novel way to look at parenting and having children.
In her 1994 book Pricing the Priceless Child (Princeton University Press), Princeton University sociology professor Viviana Zelizer describes how in the 19th century, children were "economic assets" that contributed to farm work and other important tasks. Then, during the early 20th century, the U.S. established laws removing many children from hard labor, sparking the "rise of the economically useless and emotionally priceless child," Zelizer says.
"As children have become less of an economic issue and people have fewer children and wait longer to have them, children have become precious, not in a economic sense but in an emotional sense," says Ellen Galinsky, president of the Families & Work Institute, a nonprofit research organization in New York and author of Ask the Children (William Morrow, 1999). "Having children is a meaningful thing to do in life—it's not just passing on a legacy."
Do you have children as an investment for the future?
Parents are invested in children emotionally by being more involved in their lives, Galinsky says. There's also hope that children will return the care when their parents are older and need assistance. "There's much more interdependence now," she says. "You're investing in your own future relationship."

2009 Inaugural Ball Gowns & 2009 Oscar Ceremony Fashion Hits and Losers and New York Fashion Week
While the economy is going down the tube,the fashion world has known somewhat of a revival with all the ceremonies that have been planned for January and February. Designers of all levels of popularity have been showing their best designs during this season. Michelle Obama brings style to Washington and the rest of the country while trying to stay very conservative in her price range. She wants other parents to be able to afford these outfits.
Whether you call this new interest in fashion the Michelle Obama's effect or whether you agree with the analysts who say that people are dressing more conservative these days, it is all great business for the likes of Jason Wu and Isabel Toledo who designed some of the First Lady's outfits.
In the meantime, Michelle has shot J. Crew to a new level of popularity as the retailer was picked to dress the First Daughters, Malia and Sasha. J. Crew has received a nice bump in the stock after it claimed credit for the Obama daughter's vivid colors. Thanks to Michelle and her daughters, traffic to the J Crew site has not come down.
There is no doubt that the first Lady sent a message with her dresses. To accentuate her wardrobe, she deliberately chose immigrant designers. It was not by accident that Isabel Toledo's creation and Jason Wu's design were worn. Isabel is a Cuban-born designer who has made a name for herself in this industry. Jason Wu is Taipei-born designer who lives in Vancouver and Paris before interning with Narciso Rodriguez in New York, the fashion capital of the world. Once again, the First Lady shows her support for young, emerging artists and designers. There has been also talk of the special connection with the Cuban designers in her choice. The First Father, A Role Model for All African-American Young Males; Bill Cosby Can Use Obama's Help
Bill Cosby has been preaching in the desert for a long time. He has been trying to encourage young black males to stay in school, study and get a degree. He has long realized that education is the most important thing in anybody's life. Now, he can use the example of Barack Obama to motivate young kids.
